Project 1

Our client, living on a hill in South London, wanted to extend their home as they have 4 children and the location was ideal for them.

The extension was a challenge to make the most of the views as it meant taking away most of the lower part of the rear of the house to be able to more than double the lounge and dining area. We also added a utility and larder area.

The internal extended lounge awaiting the laying of an oak floor.
The finished additional utility unit.
The exterior of the extended lounge.
Completing the exterior in stained Combi Board. Please note the neatness of the carpentry finish. External garden entrance to additional utility unit.
The new shell that has been erected adjoining the existing living area adding a further 300 sq ft to the lounge and dining area.
This picture clearly shows the ‘trough’ and how we were able to hide the supporting steel in the roof so that when complete no join would be visible.
The side extension for the utility area.
The rear of the house showing the sloping roof back to the house to give maximum height at the front to capture the full view.
The steelwork is bolted to the piles.
With the roof line sloping back to the house we had to create a ‘trough’ gutter that would not clog with leaves
The windows have now been placed in the timber frame.
Removing the old patio slabs before piling.
Having now successfully piled down 6 mtrs into the slope and poured the foundations the brickwork to DPC level is being laid.
