Project 3

Our client's Grandfather built this bungalow very many years ago and we were asked to replace it with a new home incorporating all the latest Scandinavian energy saving technology.

The brickwork can now be added and built around the windows and doors whilst inside, the rooms go to a finished stage by the closing of the walls, tape & jointing the plasterboard, followed by 3 coats of paint.
These pictures show the bathroom floor ready for screeding over the insulated floor and later being tiled, starting from the centre with full tiles.
As soon as the frame is erected the roof is tiled to ensure that in the unlikely event of any movement it happens under the weight of the roofing tiles.
With the outside weatherproof, work can now start inside with the first phase of carpentry, electrics and plumbing.
The roof is now ready for the tiler next week to fix his batterns and fit the local authority approved tiles. Note the additional waterproofing between the roof and fascia.
By the end of day 4 the shell of the bungalow is erected and waterproof.
The whole house is delivered on a rigid flat truck as the access to the site is tight. Within 3 hours, in the pouring rain, the kit is unloaded and erection can begin.
The block and beam floor is now in-place and ready to receive the kit. Scaffold has been erected around the perimeter for easier assembly, particularly the roof.
The foundations are now being completed to take the block and beam floor that will form part of the base for the House Kit arrival in November.
Within 6 days of arriving on site the house is down, the parts separated for recycling and the footings of the new Scandia-Hus have been dug, inspected and the concrete poured.
